Crab Orchard, KY 40419606-355-2371 dscheffler@netscope.net I arrived in Vietnam May 2 1968, spent about 2 weeks at the 9th Inf replacement center at Bear Cat, and then was sent advanced party to Dong Tam where I was assigned to HHSB 1/84 Arty, I served with them until Sept 15th 1969, when our Battalion was deactivated, and sent to Hawaii. we was the first battalion to be deactivated, and we were assigned to the 5/13 Arty 25th Inf Div in Hawaii....I was very close to the ammo dump when it got hit, and went up.
